Last Friday was the first day of our team meeting “Winterfreuden”. As so often, we were drawn to the nearby mountains of the Munich area, more precisely to Bayrischzell. The beautiful surroundings and a top hotel ensured an inspiring atmosphere and maximum team spirit.
After the journey and a super breakfast, it was time to get to work. The presentations of the colleagues not only provided valuable insights into various areas, but also stimulated the exchange of ideas and prepared us for upcoming challenges. And finally there was the opportunity to chat with everyone in person again.
NetDescribe and the Bavarian Olympic Games – A fun-filled incentive that challenges our entire team spirit
After the lectures and workshops, everyone changed into their outdoor clothing. Then the Olympic spirit took over – “Taking part is everything!” At four stations, the aim was to achieve the best result with concentration, the right coordination and a healthy dose of ambition. Four external guides were equipped with stopwatches and the best “refereeing qualities”.
The nail must go into the wooden block – the hammer for it looks strange Hammering nails into a wooden block sounds easy, right? But time was short, and the special hammer used had hardly any surface area to properly hit the small nail head. Utmost concentration and a good eye turned out to be the key to success. But that didn’t stop some teams from trying to conquer the nail with brute force.
Sawing a log – the long saw blade of the pull saw has its pitfalls The goal was to cut a slice off a massive tree trunk. It could be several. However, the long saw blade proved to be extremely unstable if the right rhythm was not found. This showed which teams of 2 harmonized well. By the way, lumberjack shirts did not bring the desired advantage.
Coordination on giant-skis – march in step! At this station, giant skis were waiting to be moved and steered with precision by the teams. You had to move forward synchronously with the unusual means of locomotion on a course. This not only tested physical coordination, but also the ability to work together and rely on each other.
Pipeline – transporting balls into a bucket can’t be that hard With the help of a U-shaped pipe element – model gutter – various balls had to be transported over a given distance and placed in a bucket. The stupid thing about it: on the one hand, the balls liked to jump out of the track and on the other hand, the distance to be overcome was much longer than the existing elements. One team had the best tactics and balanced all the balls to the finish line. Applause!
The award ceremony brought surprisingly close results. But much more important than the places on the podium was the mega fun that everyone had and the good feeling of being rewarded with culinary delights after physical and mental peak performance.
The creative challenges and the relaxed atmosphere of our team events not only strengthen the cohesion of our colleagues, but also create numerous positive memories and beautiful experiences that will stay with us for a long time. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful event!
