NetDescribe Team Event in October! Destination: the center of the earth – no, not really, but it turned out much better. Our path led to the beautiful Altmühltal valley and there to the center of Bavaria! Officially determined by the State Survey Office in 1979, this is geographically located above Kipfenberg Castle between Kipfenberg and Gelbelsee (municipality of Denkendorf).
The market town of Kipfenberg, a pretty little place, welcomed us on this morning unfortunately gray in gray. But the mood in the team was excellent and after everyone was strengthened with coffee and pretzels, it was off to work. Presentations from technology, sales, marketing and management brought all colleagues up to date. Creativity and inventiveness were required in the workshops. As always, when everyone is together, the output was sensationally good.
Then it became historical. Because everyone was curiously looking forward to the hike to Kipfenberg Castle and on to the center of Bavaria. No one from the team had ever been to this historic place before. Appropriate to the occasion, the NetDescribe flag was waved and in front of the hotel the team could strengthen themselves for the long climb with a “Weghoibe” (= 0.5 L beer).
A boulder as a boundary stone and a widely visible flag mark the destination. Arriving at the open meeting place, the hikers rewarded themselves with a regional “Schnapserl” (small schnapps), while a guide explained exciting historical backgrounds. Because Kipfenberg is not only the center of Bavaria – the Limes, the Roman imperial border and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ran through the municipality almost 2000 years ago. Again what learned
The way back downhill seemed shorter to everyone and we looked forward to the joint dinner in the Kaminstüberl (fireside lounge). In addition to an excellent meal, the highlight was a beer sommelier who let us taste some of the best regional beers. What more could you want?
A beautiful, fun evening passed in a flash.
